Government offer to 'assist with immediate recovery costs'
Laxey residents whose homes were affected by flooding earlier this month are to receive a payment of £500, the chief minister has confirmed.
A major incident was declared on 1 October as adverse weather hit the village, trapping people in their homes and leading to more than 150 properties losing power.
In the aftermath of the floods, skips and sandbags have been provided to help with the clean-up operation.
A designated community support officer has also been appointed to offer reassurance and act as a point of contact with government.
Those wishing to apply for the special grant are asked to visit the dedicated Laxey Flooding page on the Isle of Man Government website.
