Laxey Wheel and Rushen Abbey to reopen

Lack of water means wheel will not be turning

You'll be able to visit Laxey Wheel and Rushen Abbey from today.

They are the latest Manx National Heritage sites to re-open following Peel Castle last week.

The recent dry spell means the Laxey wheel will not be turning but you can walk the grounds and climb to the top.

The gardens at Rushen Abbey will be open as well as the interpretive centre and heritage shop.

Additional Covid-19 safety measures have been put in place including screens at admission points and people are asked to use contactless or card payments rather than cash.

All three sites are open Thursday to Sunday between 11am and 3pm.
