Lenders urged to focus on Cambar facts

Politicians ask for meetings with lenders and estate agents

Owners of concrete panel houses are urging politicians to reassure mortgage lenders their properties are as well-built as any others in the Island.

The value of hundreds of Cambar-style homes fell when it emerged lenders had concerns about the construction of similar properties in the UK.

Cambar homes in the Isle of Man were built to a higher standard, and no major defects have been reported.

Now, a political delegation is asking for an urgent meeting with surveyors, lenders and estate agents to restore confidence.
