Licensing ban for man who urinated near play park

Culprit also ordered to pay a fine

An Onchan man has been fined for urinating near a children's play park in broad daylight.

Martin Lee Booker, of Seacliffe Road, pleaded guilty to one charge of being drunk and indecent on August 1.

The 51-year-old appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

Booker told the court a drink problem played a big part in what he called a 'stupid thing to do'.

He was arrested when a member of the public alerted the police after seeing him urinating against a wall on Douglas promenade walkway - his genitals exposed to a play park full of children.

Admitting the offense immediately, he was given credit for co-operating fully with police and entering an early guilty plea.

Mrs Hughes issued Booker with a Licensing Act Ban and fined him £300.

He will also have to pay more than £250 in costs.
