Lifeboat called out to vessel with engine failure

Fishing boat towed into harbour

A fishing boat had to be towed to safety this afternoon (Saturday) after it suffered engine failure.

Douglas lifeboat was launched at around 2.35pm after the 10 metre vessel ran into difficulties about three miles off Douglas.

The RNLI crew, under the command of volunteer coxswain Graeme Cushnie, towed her back to Douglas and berthed at Battery Pier where Douglas Coastguard was waiting to help.
