Residents around the Island who saw a strange light in the sky on Wednesday night are still searching for an explanation.
Drivers and walkers from Andreas in the north to Port St Mary in the south have told Manx Radio they saw a bright green light at around 9pm but the met office at Ronaldsway cannot provide any weather-related reason for its appearance.
A report in the UK suggests it may have been a meteor which was visible for up to 15 seconds.
Port St Mary man John Pinckard was driving on the St Marks to Douglas Road when he saw the ball of light speed across the sky heading north.
He says it’s unlike anything he’s ever seen – and has already discounted aircraft, lasers or Chinese lanterns.
John says it was very distinctive:
Storm Dave to bring severe gales
Manx Care 'attempting to establish contact' with dental provider as patients face uncertainty
'Significant dredging works' in Douglas Harbour
'Operational reasons' and tidal restrictions delay Heysham sailing schedule
