Staff members spotted cartridges at Northern Civic Amenity Site
The Northern Civic Amenity Site says staff members had to remove a bag from the burnable skip this morning which contained live ammunition.
In a post on social media, it says the ammunition could have discharged during compaction causing serious consequences to staff and members of the public.
People are asked to be mindful of what is being brought to the site for disposal and if unsure of what to do with your items ask a member of staff for advice.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has safely removed the ammunition from the site.
