Member seeks statement on dispute in the House of Keys

An MHK says the Island needs to 'do the right thing' to ensure the Steam Packet Company isn't staffed by workers based off Island.

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas is seeking a statement on the ongoing dispute between the ferry operator and Nautilus.

The maritime trade union is currently asking its members if they want to take industrial action over live on board proposals - the ballot closes today.

Mr Thomas fears the proposals would mean an increase in non-Manx workers on the vessels:
