Farmer calls for review of livestock transportation during Covid era

A sheep farmer is calling for a review of how livestock is transported to the UK during the Covid era.

It's after her Loaghtan ram died after travelling to Heysham.

Unable to get a licence in time Cilla Platt decided to use a carrier but the animal sustained an injury in transit and died two weeks later.

Since the incident Mrs Platt, who has the oldest registered flock of loaghtans in the world, says she's yet to be compensated:
