Local farm targeted by UK Vegan group

Facebook group has almost 30,000 members

Members encouraged to give negative reviews

A local farming business has been targeted by a UK social networking group this week, over the nature of its occupation.

Isle of Man Goats received an influx of negative reviews from members of the Facebook group 'UK Vegan', after a post encouraged people to rate them '1 star' and make "non-threatening, non-abusive opinions" known.

Members of the group took issue with the fact that the Kirk Michael farm sells goat burgers, whilst also allowing the opportunity to tour the premises and meet the goat herd, for a five pound fee.

The business responded that it had done nothing illegal, and does not sell or promote kid goat meat, from goats under a year old.
