M.E. sufferer proposes after reaching peak of Peel Hill

Campaigner, Juan Corlett, pops the question

At the worst points of his illness with ME, Manxman Juan Corlett didn't leave the house for 41 days.

With his energy levels seriously affected, even making it to the end of his driveway was significant.

But back in 2018, before his condition deteriorated, Juan was able to walk to the top of Peel Hill and stand proudly atop Corrin's Folly with girlfriend Becky Bannister - something he's been hoping to repeat ever since.

A long-time campaigner for M.E. Support IOM, Juan says he originally wanted to reach the top to raise awareness of the condition, as well as a personal challenge.

M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) is a post-viral condition, which can often see sufferers confined to their beds.

At the end of August, having just started a new job, and the sun beating down on the Island, Juan and Becky decided the day would be the day to undertake his challenge
