Make children the priority, union urges

The head of a teaching union says while he accepts spending cuts have to be made, ministers need to make sure the Island’s children are trimly at the forefront of government thinking.

Steve Iredale, president of the National Association of Headteachers, is on the Island today meeting union members and politicians, as well as finding out more about the Isle of Man.

This morning he was visiting Ballacottier School in Douglas and this afternoon he’ll meet Education Minister Tim Crookall.
