Man admits stealing £660 worth of Nike clothing

37-year-old will be sentenced in April

A Ballasalla man will be sentenced next month after stealing hundreds of pounds of clothing from a high street retailer.

Craig Phillip Teare, of Crossag Close, entered Sports Direct in Douglas just after 1pm on 4 February.

The 37-year-old left 15 minutes later with more than £660 of Nike goods.

At Douglas Courthouse he pleaded guilty to theft.

The court heard staff had found nine damaged security tags and a number of empty hangers; Teare was arrested and told police: “I got spotted didn’t I?”

A social enquiry report has been requested before Teare is sentenced on 30 April; he’s been bailed until that date.
