Man bailed over sharpened toothbrush

Crawley told not to contact witnesses

A Union Mills man accused of taking a sharpened toothbrush into Douglas courthouse has today been granted bail.

42-year-old, Lee Simon Crawley, of Snugborough Avenue, is charged with possessing an offensive weapon.

He had been remanded in custody prior to today.

The offence was allegedly committed on 11 April this year.

Mr Crawley has pleaded not guilty, and is due to go on trial in September.

He's been bailed on the condition he doesn't contact two witnesses - courthouse security staff - who are due to give evidence.
