Man to be sentenced after groping woman's breast in pub

23-year-old pleads guilty after incident in Ramsey

A man will be sentenced next month after admitting carrying out an indecent assault in a pub before headbutting a man and smashing a window.

Twenty-three-year-old Noel Patrick Richards of Bircham Avenue Close in Ramsey appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to indecent assault, criminal damage, disorderly behaviour on licensed premises, resisting police and two assaults.

Prosecution advocate Roger Kane told the hearing Richards was drinking in the Mitre pub in Ramsey on 11 December when he groped a woman’s breast.

She was left extremely distressed, and the landlord asked Richards to leave after he urinated in the smoking area.

After struggling with the publican, Richards punched through a window after he was thrown out.

Outside, he headbutted the woman’s friend and struggled with police officers who had to use Pava spray on him.

Mrs Hughes bailed him in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t enter the Mitre or contact his victim or witnesses, and he’s next due to appear in court for sentencing on 15 February.
