Tynwald to vote on changes to law

Government says it wants to 'level the insurance playing field' for boat owners.

The Department of Infrastructure is seeking changes to pleasure craft byelaws, in order to compel boat owners to be properly covered.

Political member Tim Baker MHK says the present situation is 'plainly unbalanced' and 'potentially dangerous' for those who head out into Manx waters.

Tynwald will be asked to okay the measure when the court sits next week.
