Open tender result means move to Spar store
Ramsey’s Post Office will now be run by Mannin Retail, It’s been revealed today.
The company, which is part of Heron & Brearley, had initially been given the contract to run the post office from a nearby Spar shop.
However, those plans were put on hold while a community group in Ramsey headed by commissioner Nigel Malpass tried to set up a company to run it from the existing building.
Today, Isle of Man Post Office says Mannin Retail has been appointed after an open tender.
Ramsey post office will stay in the courthouse building before transferring to the shop in Parliament Street in spring next year.
Of the eight workers affected, four have already been redeployed and Mannin Retail says all affected staff will have the opportunity to work at the new Post Office.
