Process also designed to ensure records are accurate
Manx Care says it is carrying out a review of waiting lists across the health service in an effort to reduce waiting times for patients.
The organisation explains the process, known as ‘validation’, involves checking for duplicate or incorrect referrals, confirming with patients whether they still wish to remain on a list, and ensuring no one is removed without a clinical decision.
Manx Care adds that, as well as helping to tackle waiting times, the process will ensure patients are on the correct lists and that records are accurate.
A dedicated team has been set up to manage the validation process and support ongoing monitoring.
