Manx Care restricting visiting and cancelling appointments due to Covid-19 pressures

Restrictions to be in place for an initial two weeks

Visiting is being restricted at Manx Care settings, and some appointments are being cancelled.

It's due to the level of community spread of Covid-19 and staffing limits.

Tomorrow, all except clinically urgent outpatient appointments will be cancelled.

From 4 January, most appointments will be converted to phone calls for an initial two weeks.

People who haven't been contacted by Manx Care should attend appointments as usual.

Visiting at Noble's Hospital is being suspended for a minimum of two weeks.

Homes operated by Adult Social Care are also restricting visiting from 31 December. They include -

• Reayrt Ny Baie – Douglas
• Southlands – Port St Mary
• Cummal Mooar – Ramsey
• Langness/Gansey – Port St Mary
• Thie Meanagh/Sweetbriar – Douglas
• Reayrt Skyal – Ramsey

Some exceptions apply, including when patients are receiving end of life care.

Manx Care CEO, Teresa Cope, said: ‘We understand that these changes may be difficult for those affected. However, this is a temporary measure which we have put in place to protect our community, and we will be regularly reviewing the situation.’
