Manx firms have won a range of contracts at the site of the new Curry's superstore, due to open on the outskirts of Douglas next month.
But some key tradesmen from the UK have been drafted-in as the project reaches its final few weeks.
That picture's been confirmed by the Department of Economic Development, which sent work permit enforcement officials to the site earlier this week, to check credentials.
The department says parent company Dixon's Group is co operating to ensure Manx firms are used wherever possible, and permits for off-Island specialists are applied for, where necessary.
Thirty-four staff have been recruited through the Job Centre for the store, due to open on 5 October.
