Manx folk music 'undervalued'

R2 Folk Award winners celebrate

One of the local winners of a major British music prize says it demonstrates the strength of traditional music in the Island.

Four-piece Imar took the Horizon Award at BBC Radio 2's Folk Awards on Wednesday night.

They were one of three Manx nominations, alongside fellow traditional outfit Alaw, and 18-year-old harpist Mera Royle, who was named best Young Artist.
