Island residents already self-medicating says MHK
An MHK believes wider acceptance of the health benefits of cannabis would make life easier for Manx patients.
Dr Alex Allinson claims a number of residents are already self-medicating with cannabis products they have obtained themselves.
It comes as the UK government announced a review into its use for therapeutic purposes, following the case of a young boy with epilepsy being denied access to cannabis oil.
A separate review into decriminalising small amounts of the drug for recreational use is also underway in the Island.
Dr Allinson says we should look at change happening in other countries.
