Olympic gold medallist strives for green alternatives to car travel

Boardman on-Island to talk about active travel

Around a third of the Isle of Man's emissions come from transport - and residents could cut that amount by another third if they chose to walk or cycle instead of taking the car.

That's according to Olympian Chris Boardman, who is now the transport commissioner for Greater Manchester.

He's on the Island talking to government and business leaders about active travel:

The gold medallist is currently leading a £1.5 billion programme in the North West which ensures people in the city region have an alternative to using cars.
