Parent company of Jersey Telecom says it will accelerate investment in 5G, fibre and digital services
The formal acquisition of Manx Telecom by JT Group has been completed.
It was officially completed on Friday (15 May) after receiving regulatory approval.
Gary Lamb, Manx Telecom Chief Executive, says it will enable the company to 'move forward with confidence'.
JT Group is the parent company of Jersey Telecom and the acquisition sees it become the largest full service telecoms provider across the Crown Dependencies.
Announcing the completion of the acquisition, Manx Telecom says it's the 'beginning of an exciting new chapter for [the company] and the Isle of Man’s digital future'.
The Chief Executive Officer of JT Group, Daragh McDermott, says: "With the support of our strategic partner CVC DIF, we are in a strong position to accelerate investment in 5G, fibre and digital services across the Isle of Man, while continuing to grow OV and Synapse360.
"Our commitment to the Island, its people and its digital future remains central to everything we do."
