Tests showed River Dhoo safe despite claims on Facebook
The chairman of Manx Utilities is warning of the dangers of spreading misinformation on social media.
It comes after a post on Facebook questioned the safety of the water in the River Dhoo at Union Mills after a dog fell ill.
Testing showed no obvious signs of contamination or threat to health.
Dr Alex Allinson MHK says such posts can lead to unnecessary public concern:
