Marown remembers 'gentleman' of parish

Flags at half mast in the parish

Flags at Marown Parish Church are flying at half-mast as a mark of respect following the death of former Middle MHK Martyn Quayle.

Marown Commissioners say they’re ‘deeply saddened’ by the news and are expressing their condolences to Martyn’s mother and family.

Board chairman Alex Toohey says Martyn was a dedicated member of the parish and a ‘gentleman in every sense of the word’ whose contribution to the parish – including Marown Parish Community Care, Marown Football Club and Crosby Silver Band – will be sorely missed.

He says they’re grateful for the huge level of support he showed the commissioners over many years.

Mr Quayle passed away on Friday at the age of 57.
