Meeting to discuss Minimum Wage increase

Businesses invited to event hosted by Local Economy Forum tonight

A meeting will be held in Douglas tonight (10 November) for businesses to discuss the pending rise in the minimum wage.

The newly-formed lobby group, Local Economy Forum, is hosting the event at the Palace Hotel from 6:30pm.

Following approval last month, the hourly rate is set to rise from £12.25 to £13.46 from 1 April.

The Forum says its immediate aim is to take on the current government policy and propose an alternative.
