Memorial to motorsport legend Geoff Duke

Service to share memories of revered rider

More than 100 people gathered at St Ninian's Church in Douglas at the height of Classic TT weekend, to remember a motorcycle legend.

One of most the respected and treasured sporting figures of his generation, Geoff Duke died in May this year at the age of 92. 

Sammy Miller, David Cretney and Murray Walker were among those who spoke at the memorial service on Sunday (30 August), paying tribute to one of motorcycling's earliest worldwide superstars, and sharing their own memories of him. 

Duke, who spent a decade at the top of his game on road and track, was a six-time TT winner and a six-time world champion.
