Treasury Minister announces changes to financial support scheme
People receiving the Manx Earnings Replacement Allowance (or MERA) will continue to get payments for two weeks after they return to work.
Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan announced the measure at the latest government media briefing, revealing a revised budget will be put before Tynwald in July.
Mr Cannan says the decision to extend MERA comes as many people returning to work in construction and horticultural sectors, may not be able to receive payment from their employers straight away:
