Service will shut overnight from next week
An MHK is questioning the decision to close the Manx Emergency Doctors Service, or MEDS, overnight during the week from next Monday.
The new procedure will be in place initially until the end of March, with a reduction in demand and staff issues being cited as the reasons behind the decision.
Back in April 2023, Douglas South representative Claire Christian asked the health minister in Tynwald if the service was at risk - and was told in no uncertain terms that it was not.
She's questioning what exactly has changed in the last nine months:
