'Food for thought' in abortion debate
An unsual committee-style sitting of the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday) saw a panel of off-Island experts give their views on proposed changes to abortion laws.
Chris Robertshaw MHK said the session allowed members the opportunity to grapple with the details of Dr Alex Allinson's Abortion Reform Bill 2018.
Last month, Mr Robertshaw's motion to have the legislation investigated by a select committee was defeated.
Yesterday, Labour peer Lord Brennan QC suggested the Island was going 'beyond the UK' with its attempts at reform.
Mr Robertshaw said Lord Brennan's comments gave food for thought:
RPU will be 'out in force' to stop drink and drug drivers
Ramsey Commissioners to spend more than £8k on deckchairs and storage unit
How to spot the signs of domestic and elder abuse this Christmas
Police appeal to parents after party of up to 50 young people 'becomes an issue'
