The Island has a new man in Westminster today after last week’s UK general election.
Michael Gove has been appointed Secretary of State for Justice, taking responsibility for relations with the Crown Dependencies.
The 47 year old began his career as a journalist before being elected as MP for Surrey Heath, becoming Secretary of State for Education in 2010.
But he’s faced a difficult time over the past four years – with votes of no confidence by teaching unions the National Association of Head Teachers, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, National Union of Teachers and NASUWT.
