Minister defends lead-in time to higher minimum wage

Follows criticism by Chamber of Commerce

The enterprise minister has defended his department against criticism from the Chamber of Commerce over the lead-in time to an increase in the minimum wage.

The rise to £9.50 for adults will come into force from April.

The timing of the proposal got a frosty reception from the chamber which felt it didn't give businesses enough time to prepare for the increase.
