The Health Minister says a claim by East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell that 120 nurses are to leave Noble's Hospital is 'news to him'.
Howard Quayle was speaking in the House of Keys this morning (Tuesday) about the leadership and management structure within the Island's health service.
He said he had not heard what Mrs Cannell was claiming, although did acknowledge some staff were concerned over pension reforms.
He also told colleagues seven consultants had handed in their notice in recent months - one down to ill health and a number due to reaching retirement age.
Mr Quayle said that while it was possible to use locums, that came at a cost and it was important to have succession planning in place across the health service.
