Minister makes 'no comment' on courthouse

Estate agent value building and grounds at £475,000

The Home Affairs Minister says he'll make no comment about the future of Ramsey courthouse until he meets the town commissioners on Friday.

Bill Malarkey was asked in the House of Keys today (Tuesday) if he would consider the 'social value' of the area when evaluating offers.

However, he refused to elaborate until after meeting the local authority.

The DHA has put the site up for sale with an estate agent valuation of £475,000 - Ramsey Commissioners have made a below asking price offer, to keep the courthouse in public ownership.

Mr Baker pressed the minister to confirm he'd take the facility's value to the community into account - as required by the Programme for Government.  

But Mr Malarkey was having none of it:
