Tynwald members briefed today
The Treasury minister is expected to outline plans for an historic shake-up in welfare benefits and the state pension today (7 July).
Eddie Teare is due to brief Tynwald members and the Manx media on proposals drawn-up in the wake of a major public consultation.
Last autumn, a consultants' report suggested the Manx welfare system needed major reform, if the National Insurance fund was to remain sustainable for future generations.
Mr Teare hosted a series of public meetings around the Island in the spring to outline options.
Speaking at the time, Mr Teare warned the public, the welfare system as set up more than 70 years ago, needed another look:
