Minister to take part in Twitter Q and A

DoI boss to respond directly to electorate's questions

A local politician will be using social media to connect with the electorate later this month.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne is taking part in a live Q and A session on Twitter.

He hopes the session will get more people to get involved with Manx politics.

Using the hashtag #AskPhil - Islanders will soon have the chance to field any questions about DoI projects to the man in charge.

Twitter allows users 140 characters to type a message - and Mr Gawne believes it's a great chance to engage with the public.

Following a meeting earlier this year where he called for more forms of direct democracy to be introduced in the Isle of Man, the infrastructure minister is now set to give direct answers to the electorate's questions.

Using the handle @PhilGawne - there'll be a 45 minute window for you to ask your questions from 2pm on Friday (JULY 15).
