£10 million allocated to help fund development
An MLC has welcomed taxpayer backed funding for developers looking to regenerate derelict areas saying they look like ‘bombsites’.
Paul Craine voted to support the new Island Infrastructure Scheme this week which will see an initial £10 million allocated to transform brownfield locations.
The scheme – which was not unanimously backed by Tynwald – will be overseen by the Department for Enterprise.
Mr Craine says areas which have fallen into disrepair – particularly in Douglas – are a ‘blight’ on the landscape.
