More pairs needed for three-legs record challenge

A call-to-arms - or perhaps legs - has been issued to help the Island win back an important world record - as the challenge has just stepped up a notch!

An attempt on the Guinness record for the largest three-legged race will be made on Douglas beach on bank holiday Monday, May 6.

Organisers had been told it was held by a school in Japan where 502 pairs of people completed the required 200 metres in 2011.

However it's since emerged the record was regained by Morecambe Community High School in Lancashire last year with 551 pairs - and that means even more people must step forward if the title's to be held in the Island!
