More people turning to OFT for debt help

Increased demand for debt counselling service

More people are turning to the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading for help with debt.

2017 was a record year for people contacting the organisation for advice, and chief inspector of Trading Standards John Peet says this has increased again over the last 12 months.

Mr Peet explains why someone might end up in debt:

The OFT's debt counselling service can be contacted on 686 510 or by emailing debt@gov.im
