More rises in power costs on the way?

The chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority says after a three-year price freeze followed by a rise in April, he thinks there may me more increases in energy costs in the coming years.

Yesterday, Howard Quayle MHK revealed electricity prices would rise by three per cent – annual bills will go up by just over £20.

But he says when the new Manx Utilities Authority comes into being, it’ll be for whoever’s in charge of that to decide whether to put prices up again.

But Mr Quayle predicts there will be more rises to come:
