Motorists told not to stockpile petrol without licence

EVF reminder at time of widespread UK issues

Motorists will be challenged if they're suspected of buying petrol to store without a licence.

It's illegal to stockpile more than 10 litres.

In the UK some petrol stations have been forced to close after people started panic-buying fuel due to concerns over a lorry driver shortage.

Here Ellan Vannin Fuels says its forecourt employees will ensure no-one buys more than they're allowed.

Anyone who wants to store petrol at home, in a garage, a workshop or at a motorsport event needs a licence from the Office of Fair Trading.
