Motorists heading south from Douglas are advised to travel via Douglas Harbour, past the Nunnery and join the diversion route past the Energy from Waste Plant and back onto the New Castletown Road.
You can also use Braddan Bridge, Vicarage Road, Cooil Road to Cooil Roundabout and St Mark's Road.
The Department of Infrastructure says the work is being done outside the normal working week to 'minimise impact on the travelling public and business'.
