One of a number of schemes being considered
The potential for solar panels floating on the surface of Sulby reservoir is one scheme being considered by the Manx Utilities Authority.
First mooted back in 2022, the idea was again raised in the House of Keys this morning (27 January).
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked for an update from the authority on plans to install 10 megawatts of solar capacity on publicly owned buildings and infrastructure, such as the NSC.
Chair John Wannenburgh told the chamber that whilst those plans are in progress, other options for delivering solar power across the public estate are also being considered:
MHKs agree to progress Bill removing Bishop's vote from Tynwald
Government adopts definition of antisemitism
Douglas road shut due to falling roof tiles
Plans for silt disposal at former mine rejected
