Legislation also bans cold-calling on Island
The Isle of Man can utilise 'multiple agencies' here and in the UK to combat the threat of rogue traders.
That's according to the Office of Fair Trading which issued a warning earlier this week to residents to be vigilant against 'cowboy builders'.
One method used to help against this is Island legislation which bans cold-calling.
OFT Trading Standards Officer, Callum Hussey, says legitimate local traders have been educated on that law since it came into force:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
