Almost £4 million of that is yet to be repaid
Nearly £4 million is owed to the government for money it's overpaid in benefits.
The total's been revealed in a written response to a Tynwald question.
It takes into account overpayments from the last 10 financial years.
In that period, nearly £7 million of benefits were overpaid in total.
Treasury says each case is monitored for repayment and appropriate action is taken to recover monies owed should payment not be made or the agreed repayment plans fail.
