Talks yet to take place with BBC
October will be the crucial time for an update on negotiations with the BBC.
That's according to the man in charge of putting the Manx position forward, Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas.
He says talks have yet to take place with the BBC, but since Christmas he has been working with civil servants, preparing the ground for dialogue with the Department of Media, Sport and Culture in the UK and BBC directly.
Mr Thomas says he hopes the corporation and UK government will appreciate the Island's stance.
