MHK says result would inform future governments, but one party is not convinced
The December sitting of Tynwald gets underway today (9 December) and amongst the topics on the agenda is government's commitment to Net Zero.
Middle MHK Stu Peters is to move a motion calling for a referendum on whether or not to abandon the policy.
If his colleagues back the proposals today, he would like to see it held alongside the next General Election in September next year.
He argues the result would help inform policies for the next crop of Keys members:
But the Isle of Man Green Party says rolling back the Island's net-zeros policies would be harmful for the Isle of Man in the future.
They came out in staunch opposition last week, issuing a long statement online.
