New anti-crime legislation

Isle of Man Customs and Excise is working on legislation for the Treasury which will target those behind crimes such a drug smuggling and money laundering.

The Proceeds of Crime Bill would bring the Isle of Man into line with other jurisdictions, making it easier for police forces and courts to cooperate and confiscate illicit funds.

Treasury is currently holding a public consultation, with interested parties having until the end of this month to submit their opinions.
