New Arts Aid chairman looking to support 'elite Manx students'

Mark Denton succeeds 'driving force' of charity

A Manx charity which offers financial help to students looking to further their education and development in the arts has a new chairman.

Arts Aid has appointed Mark Denton who’s been a director with the organisation since its inception seven years ago.

He succeeds David Wertheim who was described as the ‘driving force’ in setting up the charity.

Mr Denton said: "I am delighted to continue supporting elite Manx students to further their education in the arts and it is immensely rewarding to be able to provide financial support allowing our talented young people to pursue a career in their chosen field.

"David was a formidable and focused chairman of Arts Aid.

"Although we are a small local charity, under David’s leadership, we have helped 30 young people further their education and training in fine art, music, drama, musical theatre and, latterly, fashion design and photography."

New applicants for scholarships must have their applications in by 28 May – you can find out more HERE.
